In Demand: The IDR Protocol

At our ISTM 2013 comprehensive implant surgery training meeting (Feb. 1-5, 2013), we will devote the first afternoon Regenerative Technologies Forum to learning about the relatively new Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration (IDR) protocol. Presenting on this topic will be the three Brazilian clinicians and researchers who developed the protocol. They are in demand worldwide as speakers so we are honored to have them join us at our fifteenth annual training meeting on Miami Beach.

Until recently, tooth replacement at compromised sites in the esthetic zone, required long-term treatment with possible undesirable complications in the tissue architecture. The Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration (IDR), which advocates minimally invasive flapless procedures, is a viable and reproducible alternative.

The IDR technique broadens indications for immediate loading on individual teeth because tissue losses with varied extensions are reconstructed in the same surgical session as implant placement and provisional crown installation. Happily for both clinicians and patients, this reduces the number of interventions while enabling predictable esthetic results.

The Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration was developed six years ago from the need to minimize the treatment time and morbidity of reconstructive procedures. Our ISTM session with Drs. José Carlos Martins da Rosa, Marcos Alexandr e Fadanelli, and Ariádene Cristina Pértile de Oliveira Rosa will cover the scientific basis, the step by step clinical techniques, and indications.

José Carlos Martins da Rosa, D.M.D., graduated from the Federal University of Santa Maria Dental School in Brazil in 1988. Later in 1991, Dr. Rosa specialized in Periodontics at the Sao Paulo Association of Dentists in Brazil, and continuing his education in 2005, Dr. Rosa graduated with a Master of Science in Prosthestics from the Center of Dental Research Sao Leopoldo Mandic-Campinas, Brazil. Dr. Rosa is currently working on a his Doctorate in Implantology at the Dental Research In Sao Leopoldo Mandic-Campinas, Brazil while maintaining a private practice in Caxias do Sul, Brazil. Dr. Rosa is the principle author of the highly acclaimed textbook, Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration, Immediate-loaded implants in compromised alveolar sockets.  This book was published in Portuguese in 2010 and in Spanish in 2012 by Santos Publishing (São Paulo – Brazil). The book will be published in English by Quintessence Publishing late this year.

Marcos Alexandre Fadanelli, D.M.D., graduated in Dentistry from the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil in 1997. Dr. Fadanelli is currently working on his Masters of Science in Restorative Dentistry from the Center of Dental Research, Sao Leopoldo Mandic-Campinas, Brazil, and is currently in private practice in Caxias do Sul, Brazil. He was a co-author of the afore-mentioned book.

Ariádene Cristina Pértile de Oliveira Rosa, D.M.D., graduated in Dentistry from of the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil in 2002. Dr. Ariádene Rosa later specialized in Implantology at the Dental Research, Sao Leopoldo Mandic-Campinas, Brazil in 2005. Following her love of holistic health and Research, Dr. Rosa received a specialist degree in Acupuncture from the Brazilian College of Systemic Studies in 2010. Dr. Rosa is currently working on her Master of Science in Implantology at the Center for Dental Research, Sao Leopoldo Mandic-Campinas, Brazil, while maintaining a private practice in Caxias do Sul. She also was a co-author of the book.

We are taking registrations now for ISTM 2013 (Feb. 1-5, 2013) at the Miami Beach Resort and Spa. Last year, we filled all 150 seats and wait listed hopeful attendees. Don’t miss out by waiting to register. Novice to experienced dental implant surgeons and their clinical assistants will benefit from this conference. Special tuition rates are available for early registration, those enrolled in residency programs, and staff members. Past attendees will tell you that this is one of the best, if not the best, dental implant surgery conferences they have ever attended.
